BCU Christmas Market Place

The BCU Christmas Marketplace is a collection of small businesses, start-ups, collectors, designers, independent makers, student and graduate entrepreneurs and creatives.

After last year’s fantastic success, we have brought the BCU Christmas Marketplace back. This is a great opportunity to support local businesses, see what BCU students and graduates have to offer, explore the brand new STEAMhouse building, and get your Christmas gifts early!

As always, entrance is FREE. This is to ensure the marketplace continues to support small businesses and provides the opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet customers face-to-face.

The Event will be held at STEAMhouse.

IS THIS EVENT FOR STUDENTS ONLY?

No!

This is an event for Birmingham, so whether you're a student or graduate, a local business, friends and family, or just visiting, you are welcome to come along and see what BCU and what Birmingham has to offer.

DO I NEED TO BOOK A TICKET?

Tickets to the event are FREE but you must pre-book so we can keep track of how many are attending. 

You do not need to print off or bring in a physical ticket with you on the day. 

Priority will be given to those have pre-booked and if you try to enter on the day without a ticket, we cannot guarantee entrance if capacity is high, although we will try our best to accommodate everyone. 

WHEN WILL THE DOORS OPEN?

Guests will be allowed entry from 4pm onwards. The event closes at 7pm. 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT THE CHRISTMAS MARKETPLACE?

STEAMhouse will have over 50 stalls, all selling an assortment of items from student, graduate and local businesses.

Some items we had last year were:

Candles, sweets, artwork, illustrations, cards, comics, toys, embroidery pieces, jewellery, clothing, seasonal decorations, prints, bags, skincare, haircare, personalised items, pet accessories, pottery, coasters, street food, notebooks and more! 

DO I NEED TO BRING CASH?

Some of the stalls prefer cash payment only, however most stalls will have cash, Paypal, bank transfer, and card payment options. 

The nearest cash point is Co-Op, 50 Curzon St, Birmingham B4 7XJ. This is a 4 minute walk away from STEAMhouse.

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

STEAMhouse does not offer parking. The nearest parking is:

IS THE VENUE ACCESSIBLE?

Yes the venue is accessible for wheelchair uses and has toilet facilities onsite.

Cycle lanes throughout the city will bring you directly to STEAMhouse
STEAMhouse has forty cycle spaces and eight foldable cycle spaces, located undercover and accessed via a secured gateway

Moor Street Station (approx. 0.4 miles, 9 min walk)
New Street Station (approx. 0.7 miles, 13 min walk)

Car parking available in the nearby Millennium Point Car Park which is a 2min walk from the STEAMhouse building
